If you’re not keen to take months or years learning to drive, a comprehensive training course in driving could allow you to pass your test in less than two weeks.

As per the DVSA, learners require at least 47 hours of instruction before passing the practical test. It can be costly that’s why we’ve witnessed an increase in driving schools that permit students to take shorter, shorter and more intense time.

Our comprehensive guide will explain everything you must learn about these driving lessons.

What’s an intensive driver school?

Also known as a “crash course” which is a comprehensive driving course incorporates all the instruction required to pass your driving test in less time than the normal.

You’ll need a temporary UK driving license to be able to complete the course. If you’re driving your own vehicle you’ll need insurance for learners. While you might be able to pass two the practical tests in the course however, the majority of driving schools need you to have passed the theory test and to demonstrate a minimum degree of competence.

The training can be completed in your own local location or opt for an in-person course that requires you to are away from your home. If you’re looking for something less intense, semi-intensive programs are also available , allowing students to have a break during the theory test.

What are the things you can expect from an the intensive driving course?

A majority of courses offer one-to one instruction with a certified driving instructor. You’ll receive the same education similar to the traditional driving lessons. However, the intensive courses can be designed to target those areas you’re less confident in. After that, you’ll take a faster-paced exam at the conclusion of your training.

If you enroll in a residential program where you’ll go to a training centre where you will be taught the laws of the road. You’ll also be presented to your instructor driving who will assist you during the course of the course of.

What is the length of an intensive driving class?

There aren’t any strict rules regarding this, however intensive driving classes are usually available in two or one-week timeframes. Because of the limited time frame, it is recommended to be prepared to spend at minimum five hours per day driving.

If you’ve already attended a few classes and just want to get a crash course prior to the test, you could take advantage of a two-day class which will require only 10 hours of education.

If you’re unsure of what level of training you’ll need the driving school you attend is likely to be able offer you a test to determine the best course for you.

Residential courses last for up to an entire week and can be located in all over the UK.

Where can I find an intensive driving lesson?

Driving schools all over the UK provide intensive training which is why you should be able find one near you. Do your research prior to selecting which one you choose to work with. Don’t simply go with the cheapest choice. Examine the pass rate as well as review the reviews.

In many instances instructors are capable of picking you up from your home or work place and then you’ll be able to train on the local roads.

Can I be sure that I will successfully complete an intensive driving class?

The instructor of your course will teach you the knowledge and skills necessary to pass your driving test. The test is administered by an independent government examiner who will evaluate your performance during the test. Therefore, no driving instructor or driving school can assure you a pass.

Beware of websites advertising”guaranteed pass”. It’s a false claim – the truth is that if you continue practicing in their classes, one day, you’ll be able to pass.

Finding a suitable course is as easy as searching the internet however, it’s crucial to ensure that it’s conducted by an instructor who is a DVSA-approved driving teacher (ADI) that is trained according to DVSA standards.

Are intensive driving courses in Oxford right for me?

The intensive training method isn’t for every person. If you’ve never been in a driving seat before an intensive five-day training course can be intimidating. It’s easier if you’ve learned the basics of brake, clutch and the control of steering.

You’ll likely drive for at least five hours every day for 5 days straight that can be exhausting. It’s also possible to feel under the pressure of passing your exam the first time, to ensure you get the most return on your investment.

If you’re skilled in handling stressful situations, or simply would like to improve your driving skills, intensive training courses are a good option.

Are intensive driving classes worth the cost?

A rigorous course can allow you to develop in a rapid manner in the event that you demonstrate an inherent aptitude for driving. Also, all you learn will be fresh in your memory. Through weekly lessons in driving it’s easy to lose track of things. A course that is intensive can reduce time and cost since you may require fewer hours of instruction.

But it will not make you ready for real-world driving in the same way as traditional lessons do. It’s possible that you won’t experience various weather conditions or navigate in darkness for instance.

If your test fails the rigorous test and fail the intensive course, you could be waiting for several weeks until a new testing slot for driving becomes available. At that point, you could have forgotten a lot of the information you learned at the beginning.
