A businessman has been left “gutted” after tools he uses for work were nicked from his yellow transit van overnight.
Gary Craig, who owns GC Property Maintenence and Rubbish Removals, was on his way to work on Tuesday (November 26) morning when he noticed his vehicle had been ransacked. At least £2,500 worth of equipment was stolen including screwdrivers, hammers and angle grinders.
The incident is understood to have taken place on Linthaugh Road, near Crookston, sometime between 11pm on Monday (November 25) and 8am on Tuesday. It has left Gary devastated.
He said: “All my tools were taken. I use them everyday for work and am completely gutted.
“It has had a huge impact on me and my work. It’s financially impacting me and it is stressing me out.
“I have to borrow tools from a friend to try and make some money to buy new tools. It has been a nightmare.”
The theft has been reported to Police Scotland, who confirmed a probe has been launched.
A spokesperson for the force said: “On the morning of Tuesday, 26 November, 2024, police received a report of a theft from a van in the Linthaugh Road area of Glasgow. Enquiries are at an early stage.”
