There’s plenty to talk about the power of the written word. in words written. Sometimes, it is the last resort for people who feel that there is no other place to go to get motivation and motivation. For Scott Hughes, the notion of making a difference has created a tradition every year which is now becoming popular.

Scott Hughes is the President and founder of OnlineBookClub.org – a free online community of avid readers and enthusiastic wordsmiths from all over the world who gather to celebrate the beauty of a newly read story.

This community is known for its long tradition of rising to the occasion whenever the right cause arises and with Scott Hughes himself being the initiator of numerous campaigns to raise awareness for a variety of worthy causes.

The Great Sleepout

Scott Hughes has taken part in the Sleepout.Org event and has amassed an impressive following and donations assistance from the many worldwide people who are members of the Online Book Club and beyond and all to support a worthy cause.

The concept behind the sleepout is straightforward enough. The participants choose to rest in their backyards for a night without a sleeping bag or even a meal, the age-old practice of walking in another’s shoes in order to gain more basic understanding.

In the case of Scott Hughes, the night that was in question was definitely one to remember . Being located in Connecticut in the frigid November night without any protection is definitely not the ideal situation to be in. With temperatures predicted to be 37 degrees Fahrenheit for the evening it was a lesson to be learned every hour that passed – it was a stark reminder of the countless children that find themselves in similar situations every season in USA alone.

A Communal Effort

The experience was an enriching one in the life of Scott Hughes, the resulting outpouring of love and support from his friends was inspirational to be honest. Notes were flowing with each donation and contained a tiny glimpse of the real chemistry of his tightly band of Online Book Club.

Scott has managed to exceed his goal of donating which made the frigid night to a huge achievement. We’re excited to see what the next year will bring.
