The numerous positives of pumping concrete makes it a favourite option for both domestic and commercial customers, and often due to limitations, it could be the only option to put concrete in place quickly and efficiently. As concrete pumping specialists, we at North West Ready Mix we decided to discuss some of the advantages we’ve uncovered from using concrete pumps in construction projects.

What type of pumps are there?

There are two types of pumps that can be used in different scenarios, they are line and boom pumps. There are pros and cons to each type of pump which are listed below.

Boom pumps use the remote control of a robotic arm to move concrete wherever it’s needed to be. With a boom, we can pump concrete in high quantities efficiently and in a precise method.

Line pumps use steel or flexible hoses that are connected to the outlet of the pump. They are connected which results in concrete being pumped wherever it has to move.

What are the advantages of pumping?

Concrete pumping equipment is equally efficient and cost-effective, no matter if it’s a home improvement project or a huge commercial construction.
Manpower is less

There’s no requirement for wheelbarrows or manually moving the concrete to the location you want and you’ll need less labour to complete the task! It’s also faster and more practical. It can save you money by having the concrete pump perform the heavy lifting which normally would be performed by a small group of people.

More precision means less waste

They are also more exact, which results in reduced time on the job as well as a reduction in wasted. By putting the concrete directly into the intended place eliminates a step to the transportation chain. There are fewer links, which means less opportunities to waste energy, time and concrete.

Access to the internet is easy

Certain areas are difficult to access, and also far of the roadway. Concrete pumps can easily overcome these challenges by using lines to transport concrete across a lengthy distance. The boom is also able to transport the concrete into the form of an elevated location like over a home or other high structures blocking the way. It doesn’t matter if it’s in an angle, in an alleyway or even upstairs concrete pumps can get the concrete exactly the place you want it to go.

Wrap Up

There’s no task too large or too small for the concrete pump isn’t able to handle. In the majority of situations managers of projects will discover that there are savings through employing concrete pumping at their work sites. Even though concrete pumping may be more costly than other methods for pouring concrete however, the savings in time and time may outweigh the expense. In certain situations concrete pumping might be the best option to difficult jobsites.
