Tactical footwear, also known as tactical boots are a type of police equipment specifically designed to improve performance in specific situations. Tactical footwear is typically used by the military or police as they provide superior levels of protection , without impairing the performance. However, they can be utilized to improve the performance of other sectors like paramedics and security, couriers, and truck drivers.

The fields and occupations mentioned above have one thing in common: they are all high pressure jobs that require lengthy periods of focus. Combat footwear balances security, comfort and weight, with designs which enhance performance, without sacrificing other aspects.

What features make footwear tactical?

Based on the information you’ve seen, you might think it’s broad. There are a few characteristics that have led to shoes for tactical use to become so closely linked with military and police.

Protective Midsole

In the conventional occupational EN20347 footwear the presence of a protective midsole isn’t a typical feature. We make sure that all of our industrial footwear is equipped with an upper and a lower to offer additional protection from dangers that penetrate the foot area in the sole. Midsoles with protection are available in two types which are composite and steel. They are less flexible and lighter and provide adequate protection from hazards that enter through the bottom of the boots which is ideal for those employed in places that have security scanners operating. Steel midsoles on the contrary provide greater protection however , they are more rigid and heavier, both of which are one of the major disadvantages to footwear.

Slip-Resistance

A single of the essential attributes. A slip-resistant sole can keep you in a straight line even under the most dangerous situations. Because of the varied conditions experienced by people who wear tactical footwear it is crucial for a sole that is slip-resistant to be able to perform in a variety of conditions. So, soles that have the highest degree of slip resistance might not be appropriate for the environments that they are not made for. A good example of this is hygiene footwear that excels in food processing settings, but isn’t a great fit for unsafe outdoor terrain.

Waterproof

It is estimated that it rains 170 days each calendar year across the UK and therefore the need for waterproof shoes is vital for anyone working outside. In general, footwear that is waterproof will last longer because it is less prone to becoming wet, which could lead to cracking in the leather if not dried properly. The effects of waterlogged footwear are harmful to comfort, adding the weight of the footwear and leading to chafing as and health problems.

Lightweight

Critical to reducing the wearer’s fatigue, but it can be difficult to achieve in the context of all these features. In the discussion of a protective midsole, the selection of materials may affect the weight of footwear , and decisions must be made on whether or not to incorporate certain features in order to reduce the weight.

Flexible

The rigidity of boots can make them extremely uncomfortable, which is a major drawback in light of the distances that are traveled for military members. Flexible boots can delay the time it takes to fatigue and can be a benefit to occupations that require time behind the driving wheel. Flexible boots react better to the steering wheel making driving more comfortable as well as more relaxing. There is no cap made of steel and the inclusion of a composite midsole within the Tactical Footwear range give it an exceptional flexibility in comparison the other types of safety shoes.

Combining these elements creates an item of footwear that is suited to high-performance industries like police, yet each one can be beneficial to businesses that go beyond defense or law enforcement. Our Tactical Footwear range has been made to be accessible to a variety of industries, including delivery drivers as well as the transport sector. Our objective is to create Tactical Footwear increasingly popular, since people are beginning to realize the advantages of wearing high-performance footwear in the workplace aren’t only intended for emergency personnel and military personnel.
